For those that asked, I did put together some

Halloween mini album kits (7).

I will be posting the video in the next day or so

to show you what all is included!

These kits are MEGA as usual and I had

a GREAT time putting them together!

So many fun goodies!

I used paper from Pink Paislee's Phantom (LOVE this paper),

Authentique's Glowing, DCWV's Ghosts & Gobblins,

Mambi's Halloween, Tim Holtz's Halloween Kraft Resist

and My Minds Eye Haunted.

I wanted to make sure you had plenty of papers

and embellishments and I think you will enjoy them!

So that you have plenty of paper I added some

collections together in the kits! They will look FABULOUS together!

Hey Everyone!

I made two 12x12 layouts today

using pictures that my girls took at Ground Zero

shortly after 9/11 happened.

I filmed the entire process, but I used

my new RCA HD camera and the

file format is .mov and I can't get them to

convert over to a .avi file. *sigh*

Several attempts and programs later

I have given up on them!

The video of my layouts themselves is

uploading as I type this, so I

will be back in a little while to share it.

Sorry for the lack of blog posts over the last

week or so. My Dad was visiting from Orlando

over the weekend and I spent most of last week

preparing for his visit. You know how that goes...

I have a couple of projects that I am

working on and will be posting them

sometime this weekend!

I just realized that I have 108 followers!!

I need to get better at taking pictures

of my projects. Its just after I do the video

and film it my usual 5+ times I don't want to

mess with it anymore, plus I take really bad pictures!

I'm asking Santa for a light box to help me!

For those that have been asking about how
the job interview went, well, I have no idea!
I think that I did pretty good and I do
qualify for the job, her only concern is
that I haven't worked retail in almost 17 years!!
And I haven't ever managed a staff larger than 3
employees at a time, but dude, I CAN totally do it!
Yea, I only had 3 employees at a time,
but I was running a finance company!!
Can you say, "High Pressure, High Stress?!"
I thought that she told me she would call
me either way on Tuesday, but I have
not heard a word from her.
She told me that I would probably do
a 2nd interview with the big boss, no word
from that either. If I don't hear from her by
Friday afternoon I will call her :)
It would be awesome to work there, but
I might have to pay THEM to work there :D

SaCrafters Contest - Desk Sign "Tutorial"

I entered into SaCrafters youtube

contest for making a desk sign for my videos!

I actually did 3 signs that all go together, but

I only entered the 1st one for the contest.

These 2 videos will show my entire

"creative process" in the making of my sign.

This was the 1st time I did a project

from start to finish on camera and

its a LOT of video editing!

The beginning of the 1st video is

me showing and talking about the sign

then the rest is fast forwarded to speed

the process up. The sign took me about

6 hours to make and I know you didnt

want to sit through all of that :)

and here is Part 2

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to share some very exciting news

with all of you! The designer of the custom

Im SOO excited! I LOVE making mini albums

Home and Exhausted!!

After flight delay after delay,

I finally arrived home at about 4:30am!

CHA Day 1

It's eye candy for the soul!

So many yummies every where you look!!

Day 1 of CHA has come and gone :)

I took videos of the Prima booth, the Ranger booth (a little),

Tim Holtz's Ideaology Booth and Several videos of Tim demoing!

HOWEVER..... I can not get my laptop to connect to Cindy's

network so I can upload anything. Im going to try and find a way.

Maybe I can go to starbucks or something?!

Dont they have "Free Wi-Fi?!"

I have a couple of things that I picked up

for my youtube 1500 subscribers giveaway that I

will be posting when I return. I wanted to wait until

after CHA to post it so that I could include some goodies from the show

to the lucky winner, or winners, I havent decided yet.

Tomorrow is another fun-filled day and I cant wait!

The 1st day you just kind of browse and take it all in,

then the next day you can really enjoy it. This year I will be

attending Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for CHA

and Friday and Saturday for the "Expo" part of CHA as well as

the jewelry findings part, which I believe is new this year.

Its going to be such an amazingly fun week!

Last year when I came, I was only able to attend 1 1/2 days of CHA

because I had to be back at work on Thursday so I had to leave Wednesday.

This year I am able to attend all of it and I plan on enjoying every minute of it!

I can finally say "WHERE'S RUBY?!"...

I MET MY FRIEND RUBY TODAY!!!

YAHOOOO! FINALLY! I mean, seriously, we

have been friends for how long now? LOL

HEY RUBY!! We are having lunch together tomorrow at CHA :)

Anyway, its late, another early day tomorrow.

Tim Holtz Kraft Resist MEGA mini album kit

Hey Everyone!

I have a couple MEGA mini album kits

using the Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper as

well as some Lost & Found and Crowded Attic papers!

This kit is HUGE!

When I make kits, I select the paper that I want

to use and basically I pull everything that I would use

to make the mini. And its a TON of stuff!

Im never skimpy on my kits and you get enough

to definately make more than 1 album!

If you dont do mini albums you can

definately use these to make a TON of cards!

Basically for this kit all you are going to

need to make it is scissors or paper trimmer,

adhesive and ink!!

White Washing Paperbags

Hey Everyone!

I had a few requests on how I

white washed the paperbags that

I used in the blue paperbag mini album.

For this sample I will be using Green bags :)

As you can see the bag is toned down a lot.

I love this white washed effect!

Pretty big difference as you can tell.

Here is the video tutorial for this technique.

I really like the effect it gives and the Gesso adds

a really nice texture to any surface.

More like a chalky, rough texture than you

would get with regular Acrylic paint, but

you can use that just as easily :)

Altered Keys Tutorial

Several months ago I did a tutorial on

altering regular keys into really cool Shabby Chic

or Distressed keys that you would actually

use in your projects!

Everyone has old house keys or car keys!

Bust out those keys, get some paint, embossing

powders, etc. and go to town!

I thought that I would share my ORIGINAL video

where I showed the keys that I had altered with you.

Yesterday I realized that I didnt make a

card or a tag for my Secret Squirrel.

HOW did I go from using a pink

butterfly made from WOC flowers to this?!

Yea, I guess thats a pretty big card......LOL

I used the blue paper from Tim Holtz's Vintage Shabby

paperline. I have created with the pink and the gray

so wanted to use the blue, plus its my SS's favorite color!

I really like the paperbags from Michaels.

that I created for a friend.

Many techniques went into this canvas and

it actually took me several days to do it.

I started out with a smaller canvas and

had to redo it on the larger size.

"What I did"....

Canvas is approx. 14x12 in size (its a big one)

I sprayed the entire canvas with the listed LSG and

dried between layers. I used the LSG "Noodle Brush" to

put brush strokes in the LSG on the canvas to add a little texture. Once it was all dried, I stamped it with the Prima Hex Net stamp using Brown Stazon ink. I then rubbed my Broken China Distress Ink pad

directly onto the canvas and along the edges. I then rubbed a small amount of Patina Rub-n-Buff around the edges and in small areas on the front of the canvas. I fussy cut the image from the G45 paper

and added Glossy accents to her lips, earring and clock. I added some Diamond Glaze to the wings and the bird. I like Diamond Glaze for covering large areas because it does come out faster and does the same thing as Glossy Accents. I painted the ivory 10mm roses with red metallic paint. When they were dry I rubbed them with a little bit of Walnut Stain distress ink and some LSG Dark Chocolate Truffle Stain. The gears were cut from the die out of chipboard and I added 3 layers of Pewter embossing powder to make them "metal" and then rubbed with some finger rubbings to alter the color a bit. I distressed the 25mm Red Roses and the 40mm Wild Curly Roses with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. After all of the pieces were added, I added the lace trim at the bottom from WOC, that I colored with Antique Linen Distress Stain to make it more of a Vintage Lace. Then I added the black beaded trim at the top as well as the beaded trim down the sides. When everything was added I "drizzled" the ballchain around from the top "Create" to the pocket watch in the hand of the G45 image. I used the Claudine Hellmuth Matte Multi-Medium to adhere it to the canvas.

I had a lot of fun doing this canvas.

Hey Everyone!

I've received a couple of questions

in regards to Wild Orchid Crafts. I thought

that I would post these questions along

with my answers so that maybe

it can help some of you as well.

These answers are "my opinions" and

from "my experiences". :)

One of the "Main" Questions I have received is:

"How do I know how much the item costs, it's in £?"

The WOC website is "defaulted" to "GB Pound" (£)

because WOC is in the UK. To change this,

there is a "Currencies" option on the very top

of each page (to the left of the "search" line)

as well as another one on the left side

in the menu bar. Simply change this from "GB Pound"

to "US Dollar" by hitting the down arrow.

(Or to whatever currency you use)

When you do that, all of the prices will

automatically change to US Dollars for each item.

(Or to whatever currency you change it to)

Another question that I have been asked is:
"How long does it take to get my order?"

When I have ordered from WOC it

took normally exactly 7 days from the

day I placed my order until the day

my order arrives at my house.

From what I understand, the UK (Royal Mail)

basically has the same "Customs" that we have,

so the packages don't have to go through what

other packages from other countries might have to.

However, the "general" rule is 1-2 weeks.

Actually, I have several LOVES and

absolute "must haves".... and this list will

probably grow larger with the new

flowers coming out!

Now, I love ALL of the flowers, but

I do find myself "reaching" for these the most!

Carnations are my absolute favorite

flower ever! I would rather have pink

carnations than roses anyday! They hold

a special place in my heart and I love them!

(Plus they last a LOOONG time too!!)

This is the pin cushion that we were

challenged to create for Jade's Secret Squirrel

Ever since I registered my .com I have

YAY! Guess what?!

My hubby fixed my camera!!!

The door on the side where the memory card slot

is apparently has a button that activates the camera

once the door is closed. Well, since my door broke

the button isnt pressed so it wont turn on!

He put a tiny piece of paper in the little whole

and it works! YAY!

Tragedy!

There has been a tragedy in my craft room tonight!

I had just finished filming my Wednesday WOC DT project

(ahead of schedule) and I moved my tripod...

Well, while moving my chair, I bumped the tripod and

my camera slammed to the floor.

My Fuji is dead! It wont even turn on :*(

I LOVE my camera and don't know what Im

going to do because that baby wasnt cheap!

I have a Fuji FinePix S700....

Santa brought it to me a couple of years ago

while the girls were in TaeKwon Do so that I

could get all the action shots.

It has a great auto focus in the video and thats

a rare find in a digital camera.

Im sure that Fuji will charge me as much to

fix it as it would cost to replace it.

Ashleigh has a newer version of my camera that

I will be getting from her tomorrow.

Im still so sad because I LOVE my camera!

Its done a fabulous job for me and Im going to miss it.

RIP Fuji :*(

So, while I adjust to the new camera there might

not be any videos or pictures for a few days.

So much for a fresh start on the blog and with the new DT.

Im heart broken :(

Crocheted Flower Tutorial :)

Hey Everyone!

I decided to do a tutorial for the crocheted flower

that I made and used on Design Team project.

I know there are probably several tutorials for

this, but this is my take on it.

I do NOT sew! Im lucky to be able to

thread a needle! ha! So, if I can do it, you can too!

For this tutorial I used a beautiful crochet lace from

Wild Orchid Crafts (item # LA-00005).

Sorry that I didn't get this posted yesterday!

I wanted to add a 2nd ottlite to my desk, which

of course turned into moving everything around and

it didn't stop with just my desk! It took a lot longer

than I thought it would. Before I knew it, the sun

had gone down and it was dark. So, I decided

to wait until today to film :)

WOC - June Designer Kit

Hey Everyone!

I got my June Wild Orchid Crafts Design Kit

today and OMG, it is packed full of goodness!

I LOVE how fast their packages arrive!!! They are

based out of the UK. My package was mailed last

Tuesday and its here today!

Hey Everyone!

I got 3 Father's Day cards done, but

havent done photos or a video yet.

I also started on June's SSCBS!

This month's theme is Sewing!

Im really excited about what I want to do

to the box, its just CAN I do it and

will it come out with what Im imagining for it.

Only time will tell.

I should have some trims coming in during

the next few days as well as my DT package from WOC.

Once I see what is in those packages of goodies I can

really make my final decisions for the cigar box.

The pressure is on! We got started late this month

and still have to ship by July 1st.

I just hope that my SS likes it when she does receive it.

I think I really like it, I just need to

My NEW Craft Space

I totally forgot to show you all my NEW space!

Ive outgrown yet another room!

This is now the 4th room in this house

that has been the home to my craft space.

I LOVE MY NEW SPACE!

IT'S HUGE!!!

This room was 1st Danielle's who is grown

and out on her own, then Ashleigh moved into

it and she is now grown and out on her own, so

I thought that since this is the large "bonus" room

in my house that I would snag it! I need to paint it,

but for right now, Im dealing with it! :)

I want to paint it with Lindy's Stamp Gang

Buccaneer Bay Blue :))

Its changed a bit since this was filmed and

of course grown even more ;)

I think I need to invest in one of those 2 story

buildings for my backyard! Who needs a pool anyway? LOL

This tutorial is for creating your own

resist backgrounds on many different

types of paper or other mediums.

on white cardstock, kraft cardstock and grungeboard.
